Corporate Ethics

Primarily, corporate ethics strategy embodies the ethical standards and values in an organization and the rationale upon how cold it be inculcated and maintained over time. Hence, it encompasses the two categories namely: compliance-oriented strategy and the integrity-oriented strategy. The real score of these can somehow help the organization gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of the employees on how they handle risk and how they adhere to the company’s commitment to ethics and compliance.
To be effective, a certain company must obtain and procure these corporate ethics strategies specifically the integrity-oriented strategy, which focuses on self-governance according to guiding principles. This strategy also lies on the concept of organizational identity that includes not only commercial objectives, but also a set of organizational ideals and responsibilities.
Ethical standards are inculcated and maintained through the organization’s central management systems, which encompass its leadership, governance structures, operating systems, and decision processes. In a business scenario, companies adhere to either two approaches that would eventually help them become progressive from the compliance orientation toward an integrity orientation.
Nowadays, corporations must secure the effectiveness of their ethics and compliance programs to both regulators and shareholders. Integrity’s ethics and compliance help protect the reputations and trademarks of a business entity. Their compliance expertise, individually customized content, and high-completion-rate training management services set a standard to which others aspire.

Are Entrepreneurs made or born?

Apparently, many people nowadays would want to embark the world of business since they would want to become lucrative by simply concocting the formula of success. And that is their desire and ability to handle a business entity and bearing the notion, that risks are extremely part of the race.

I strongly believed that entrepreneurs were not born but they are made. Primarily, people possess intrinsic, innate, and genetic talents and skills. However, it doesn’t mean that they are bound to become entrepreneurs just because of the bequest and what they have inherited from their parents but rather, the skills and the desire to embark business can be learned in the long run. It can also be developed and honed through relative experience that would somehow lead them and reach them the verge of pedestal.

Most entrepreneurs were not born, they learned how to become entrepreneurs in a race. The recent proliferation of colleges and university courses on the subject supports this point. Reaching the verge of being under the school’s tutelage would be of great help in becoming a successful entrepreneur since the knowledge you have inculcated in an alma mater can be considered a great tool for that profession. Ergo, entrepreneurship is being taught and learned.

Carpe Diem

I was in my 3rd year college then when I watched this movie entitled “Dead Poets Society” as part of our classroom activity. As I watched it, I was enamored with the cliché and inspiring message of the movie “Carpe Diem” or seize the day. This purports that each and every one of us must not waste any single fabric of our lives while we’re still here on earth instead grasp and savor it to the fullest.

From then on, I tried to take a deep scrutiny on myself and to the people who are very dearest to me, my friends, family, loved ones and most especially God. They are my greatest and precious treasures who warmth, brighten up, give life to my sullen days, which became my fortress when winning is really difficult to grasp and also who comforts and protects me against the big bad wolves. Well, I was indeed very luck then of having them in my life.

As I was riding a taxicab along the busy streets of Roxas Boulevard, I was taken aback, perturbed and my heart was over filled with empathy when I saw these couple sitting in the corner asking for a penny to the passersby, worst both of them are blind.

I was indeed astounded because despite of their incapacities they were still able to combat life and still hold on together as couples. They never lose their hopes that one day they may find light and continue to cherish their love for each other.

Apparently, love is indeed unconditional because it does not ask something in return. It is not the human manifestation and appearance that ignites you to feel the passion of loving a person but rather the emotion, and affection that you feel for that person for his/her peculiarity and individuality. Tantamount to the blind couple, even if they don’t see each other literally they still manage to cherish and continue with their lives despite of each other’s capacity, savoring their moments to the fullest, full of hope, faith in God and full of love.. Carpe Diem!

The White Man’s Burden

I admire the superb resolution Rudyard Kipling made in his poem entitled the White Man’s Burden though it somehow purports barbaric and brutal implication but nevertheless it stresses the significance over a certain country. Its paradigm depicts the imperialism within the U.S. It is the warfare between the Philippines and U.S that is, the subjugation and conquest of the Americans to the captives over the Spaniards, who are the Filipinos.

Through a deep scrutiny, I have somehow grasped the picture how the Filipinos became so pathetic and suffered from the hands and unscrupulous tutelage of the Spaniards, since they became submissive and were treated as slaves. Their melancholic way of living and their passivity simply came to a halt until such time when the Americans emancipated the Filipinos from the vindictive Spaniards. The Americans fought the Spaniards and thus surrendered the prize (Filipinos) and wanted to dominate and colonize the Philippines. Here, the gist tells us that the motive of the Americans over liberating the Filipino was to claim another’s profit or another gain.

Furthermore, by the time the Philippines were being unhampered from the Spaniards, still they have been under the nose of the U.S, following what they wanted to do for them, nevertheless, the Filipinos still praised them for saving their lives and their morose voice of freedom from the Spaniards. The Americans brought an advance pace of economy, education and industrialization to the Philippines and these benefits encompass the food as the staple of market, education, up to now we acquired the western language, infrastructures and medicines since the fatal diseases were very prevalent during those times. That is why they bring all hope to the Philippines for liberating the captives.

Furthermore, real score of the title refers to the American carrying and keeping the burdensome which are the Filipinos towards its freedom from the oppressors.

Business Ethics

In a race, a business man should be aggressive and must be aware of the risk in his business and eventually must know how to deal with those encumbrances. He must know what strategy and plan he should do in order to surpass that problem. Taking up strategic management and putting it by heart would somehow help them solve and decipher their problems with regards to their business entity. The composition of being a successful strategic planner would require a lot of consideration as to how you discipline yourself and by embarking it in a right way.

The discussion of our teacher regarding strategic management have somehow helped me understand and grasped the different aspects of it. He delved about the 4 resources to venture on business which encompass manpower, money, materials, and machines and concluded that the most important part among all is the manpower. We also thrashed out the real score about Business policy Case as to how to identify the problem, set objectives and so on. Business Policy Case referred to a condition which entails a SWOT analysis. You must be able to defend the problem why it emanates and this has something to do with deviation from the goals of the company and care for it.

Apparently, he discussed about the gist of strategic management which has something to do with the science and art, science since it requires systematic process and art because by giving strategies, you must concoct in an innovative manner. The factors of the strategic management encompass Formulation, which necessitates you to develop a mission, Implementation and Evaluation as well.

The manner of presentation of the problem has also been tackled since by way of presenting it in a harmonious way, the audience could somehow grasped what you are trying to inculcate in your case and you could definitely be able to defend it so, in that way, the teacher can be able to ascertain your skills if you have really read the problem or not and understand the case.

Princess Aiko next in line for Japan’s throne

It is the customary way of Japan to impose the patriarchal system which is the only male rule sitting in the Chrysanthemum throne in view of the fact that women are considered as only temporary caretakers and it is very impossible for a woman to become an empress. The pregnancy of a Princess is in deed a great deal for the government because only male born child or male heirs can be considered as the ruler of the Chrysanthemum throne and this has become part of Japan’s culture and system for myriad centuries.

But recently, Japan now was facing the verge of succession crisis and turmoil given that seven women (empress) ascended the throne for 1,500 years and no boy has been born to the imperial family since 1960’s. Hence, it was reported in the news that the government has nothing to do with this kind of dilemma and had proposed that Princess Aiko, daughter of Prince Naruhito and Princess Masako will be the next to be enthroned in the Chrysanthemum throne.

As I gave a deep scrutiny on this article, I can say that Japan is indeed a noble and organized country because even if they fail to follow their patriarchal system, they still consider that women has a big role in the community and can do what can men do. Anyone has the capacity in some way to have dominion over his/her country regardless of what gender you have only if he/she has the will and determination to do what is ought to be done.

I also believed that all are born equal in this world, so no matter what gender you have, be grateful, think that you can control and have power to do what is right for the welfare of your country. If you always look at the brighter side of the coin and have faith in God, nothing is impossible.
