This is what the LORD says: "Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight," declares the LORD.

Jeremiah 9:23,24 NIV

For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence.

1 Corinthians 1:26-29 KJV

But may it never be that I would boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

"No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth."

Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, were listening to all these things and were scoffing at Him.

And He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts; for that which is highly esteemed among men is detestable in the sight of God.

When we were still young, my parents used to read us the Bible, but since they were very busy with their work, they ain’t got time to do that because of some exhaustion when they got home. So the Bible reading comes into a halt but not until we reached High School wherein we studied in a Catholic Alma Mater, and it is run by Presentation of Mary Sisters. Thus, almost everyday we are required to read a scripture from the Bible. At first I’m having a hard time grasping the real score as to why we should do that but over the years of delving it and also under the tutelage of the PM Sisters, I have made a lot of realization and discover a lot of good things from the past. The powerful words, deeds, events, revelations, inspirational thoughts, teachings and life of Jesus Christ our Savior and the history of mankind were written and chronologically stated in the Bible. Now, I have grasped a broader picture as to why we should read it everyday because the Bible is considered a collection of sacred writings of the Christian religions. It is very important for us Christians to read the Bible not only Christians but any religion can read it because as hearsay it the “Food for our Soul.”

Furthermore, the faster pace of technology is emerging after several decades. Until now we still manage to read the Bible over the net and so it is easy for us to look for verses or even read the Bible online. The online Bible is truly an easy way for everyone who is working but has no time to read at night because they can just browse any readings or scriptures over the net. When we read the Bible everyday it’s like we are conversing God, believing, and having faith in him. The message of the word is truly powerful. Pax Cristi!
